Help Save our Old City Auditorium!

Attend the Ocala City Council meeting TODAY, Tuesday May 20 @ 4:00 concerning the Old City Auditorium

As you may or may not know, the City of Ocala is considering tearing down the old City Auditorium like they did to the old court house, the old post office, the old library and other historical buildings in Ocala. Help preserve what's left of the historical buildings in Ocala.

A presentation will be shown about how we can obtain grants to restore the Old City Auditorium, and how it will be used in the future.

Deborah (Furr) Scott and others are actively trying to save this building. She would appreciate some of her old high school friends to being present at this meeting to show support in stopping the planned demolition of the 1939 WPA Art Deco building.

Rumor has it ---- various members want the demolition of everything in the Tuscawilla area--tennis courts, ball field, armory bldg, Old Girl Scout bldg, Senior Center & tennis courts in order to build a Convention Center.

If anyone has any photos of any kind of activities which were held in the City Auditorium, Deborah would like to borrow them, especially interior shots.
