Paul Turner Memorial -

It's hard to prepare ourselves for news like this, when we lose a friend from high school. We know in our hearts that we will be seeing this type of news more and more as we all age, but it doesn't make it easier. This comes so close after losing Bobby Williams, and then Lloyd Adams.

Occasions like our 65th birthday party are becoming more important now, as each one may be the last time we see a dear friend from High School. Say a prayer for Paul and his family at this sad time in their lives.

G. Paul Turner

Ocala - G. Paul Turner, age 65, of Ocala, Florida passed away Sunday, May 3, 2009, in Ocala, Florida. Born in Gainesville, Florida, he moved from Bronson, Florida to Ocala in 1948. He attended Ocala High School, CFCC and the University of Florida.

He founded G. P. Turner Construction in the 1970's. In 1989, he went to work for Ring Power Corp. and achieved the title of Assistant VP and The Senior Sales Manager of paving products. He served as President of Marion County Road Builders Association, past President of the High School Rodeo Association and on the Marion County Zoning Committee.

His love of fishing, hunting, and cooking and the Florida Gators are well known. Survivors include his wife, Wendy S. Turner, Ocala, Florida; son, Tripp (Emily) Turner of Haleiwa, Hawaii, daughter, Fawn Katherine Turner, Ocala; step-son, Brett Papini of Bradenton, Florida; sister, Patricia (Buddy) Blair of Ocala: Granddaughter, Mikiala Turner of Haleiwa, Hawaii; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Mr. Turner was preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence D. Turner, Jr. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Way of Marion County or Munroe Regional Foundation. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, May 7, 2009, 9:00 a.m. at the Richardson Farm, 22715 NW 60th Avenue, Evinston, Florida. Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon is handling arrangements.
